Do the needles hurt?

Acupuncture needles are the size of a cats whisker. The needles are sterile and disposable. Some people feel nothing when a needle is inserted. Others feel a light ache or tingling sensation, which often dissipates within minutes of insertion.

does acupuncture work

Yes. Acupuncture has been used for over 2500 years and has demonstrated positive results. It continues to be researched and studied to illustrate the efficacy.

Is Acupuncture safe?

According to the Mayo Clinic, “The risks of acupuncture are low if you have a competent, certified acupuncture practitioner using sterile needles. Common side effects include soreness and minor bleeding or bruising where the needles were inserted. Single-use, disposable needles are now the practice standard, so the risk of infection is minimal.“

At Zen Acupuncture, all practitioners are fully licensed, and all treatments are done with sterile, single-use needles that are disposed of after each session.
